Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 until Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community which is situated in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to anything and everything that is found in the city of Lachine west. Many times, it is credited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel but while that is the case, her stay in the city was brief. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa, Ontario. She had a dream to be a professional dancer. However, a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. The article she wrote about her experience revealed written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. As soon as I was able to outgrow male friends, I quit. Many former dancers turn into acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a suggestion by one of her drama teachers at the high school that pushed her towards the right path. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to try her hand at a character in the school's annual production. The teacher who suggested she pursue a role in the school's annual show. It was her turn to be awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to study at York University's theatre Program which she completed on the 20th of January, 2000. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel's participated participating in numerous productions on big screens and smaller ones. She received the greatest recognition when she landed her character of Rita in the award-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor for Season 1 of the series. She was rarely seen.
